We didn’t plan on another Get to the Greenbrier post so soon, but who knew that our vanilla “how to get there” post would engender so much passion about the lack of information about travel by train, and the failure to mention major entry points?
Past President James Jennings has offered to provide detailed directions from Roanoke. You can email James, jennings@woodsrogers.com, for options. He advises “the quickest route takes a little over an hour and a half. There are scenic drives that take a little under two hours.” Jennifer Parrish reminded us we failed to mention historic Fredericksburg, a mere 3:34 from the Greenbrier. Many Alert ADTA Readers asked “where’s the Train, where’s the Train….!”
Your ADTA Greenbrier Marketing Department aims to please. Here is a link to the Amtrak page on the Greenbrier web site that gives info about trains from Washington, DC, Cincy, Chicago and New York City. It is a beautiful ride, partially alongside the New River.
More to come…..
